I shot this film of a small hill-town in Italy in order to give the rest of the world a taste of its enthralling natural and anthropological beauty, a simple exercise in non-narrative video technique. The current city is over a thousand years old, built on the ruins of an ancient one, and home to one of the oldest universities in Italy.
I shot this on my T2i with Magic Lantern and the Cinestyle preset. I left most of my gear at home this trip and just brought the tiny 18-55mm kit lens, a 50mm f/1.4, a travel tripod, and a custom-built motorized slider. Edited with Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects, and Colorista II.
For a resident of Macerata see a movie like this is wonderful. thanks
Astonished.
Wonderful.
I’m from Ancona, from le Marche, and I live in New York since 2009.
We, people from Le Marche, have so many hidden treasures.
Our art, our quiet lifestyle.
So old fashion and yet so wanted nowadays.
Thanks for putting all of this in this beautiful video.
It seems you have been there since a long time ago, or you just love our land.

Thanks again cause this video, while runs, has been remembeing me that I’m very lucky to live in a such beautiful place!!
Comunque Ccongratulations.
Tank you David for the poetry of this film! I like it very, very much!
I’m a student of the University of Macerata. Your Portrait is very beautiful! Thank you!
